Right now seems like a good time to re-post this link; it's a couple years old, but the issues haven't changed much.
The Terrible Secret of Livejournal
I wish no harm on the community in general nor (with a couple very limited exceptions) any individuals in it... but I sure see a whole lot of people these days flashing around what they think are "Get out of jail free" cards, with inscriptions like "Fair Use" and "Fictional Characters," and maybe some of those people would actually benefit from learning exactly how well "Get out of jail free" cards work in the world outside our borders.
